Edelman Ireland has announced that Mr. Feargal Purcell has been appointed Director of Public Affairs and joins the management team of the business.
Mr. Purcell was appointed Government Press Secretary by Taoiseach Enda Kenny T.D. in March 2011. He had responsibility for coordinating and managing all Government communications and he was principal communications advisor to the Taoiseach over the period 2011-2017.
He was reappointed Government Press Secretary in June 2017 by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar T.D. for a transitionary period to 31 October 2017.
Prior to this, Feargal spent over two years as Deputy Director of Communications for Fine Gael and then Head of the Fine Gael Press Office, where he helped shape messaging and strategy for the party. Prior to entering politics, Feargal served as an officer with the Defence Forces for 18 years, during which time he held senior leadership roles at home and abroad serving in Lebanon and Bosnia.

His appointment will further strengthen our advisory services and his leadership experience will contribute to the ongoing growth of the business.”
