DHR Communications is pleased to announce the appointment of Olwyn Enright as a director at the public relations firm. She will join the team in early November, focusing on public affairs, advocacy and engagement strategies, media and communications training and reputation management.
Ms Enright has worked in public affairs and communications since 2011, providing strategic advice and analysis to senior teams in both the public and private sectors. Prior to this, she served as a Fine Gael TD for the Laois Offaly constituency for nine years. She was a member of the Fine Gael front bench for most of her time as a TD, serving as spokesperson on Education and Science, and on Social Protection. She has also served on many Oireachtas committees, including the Public Accounts Committee. She was previously a member of Offaly County Council and the Midland Regional Authority.
Ms. Enright joins DHR after working with Dóchas, where she was an advocacy advisor. A former solicitor, she holds a Bachelor of Civil Law from UCD and a Diploma in Community Development Practice from NUIG.
Established in 2004, DHR is a full-service public relations consultancy that specialises in delivering communications services to clients with a strong public policy interest. It is based in the Liberties area of Dublin. It has made a number of changes at senior level over the last year.
Former government advisor, Patricia Ryan, MPRII was appointed managing director in October 2020. With overall responsibility for developing the business, Ms. Ryan leads the team of nine consultants, as well as playing a central hands-on role in client service delivery. She took over as managing director from Catherine Heaney, who remains as a working director at the company she founded. Ms. Heaney also occupies the role of company chairperson.
Commenting on the appointment, Ms. Ryan said: “We are delighted to welcome Olwyn to our team. Olwyn’s understanding of that landscape and her wide range of skills and knowledge will enhance DHR’s offering to our clients.”
